It’s been a while (at least 2 weeks) since we told you about a project of the municipality of Tel Aviv. They are a little late on this one, it’s been more than 2 years since they announced it and it’s finally coming in 2017. Tel Aviv is launching its own municipal car sharing service, the replica of Tel-O-Fun, for cars, a short term rental car service, everywhere in Tel Aviv! Read below to know everything about this new amazing service.
It already exists in Paris and other big cities in Europe, unless car2go or ZipCar, it’s is owned by non-profit organisation usually by the municipality itself and the goal is to encourage people to use cars only on short moments, only when really needed. The Non Stop City announced the launch of this service in on year.

Tel Aviv used the exemple of Paris where this system was launched for the first time in 2011.
The concept is exactly the same than Tel-O-Fun and their on demand bikes, you’ll be able to pick up a car in the street, and leave it somewhere else, in an other terminal when you’re done. It will cost around 25₪/30 min, and you’ll finally be over the parking situation in Tel Aviv.

After the success of Tel-O-fun, the city is launching the same concept for cars.
Concerning the car types, Tel Aviv thinks about renting out car such as smart cars, mini couper or Fiat 500 to test the system, they will end up with electric cars, most likely to be Renault Twizy Cars. You can see below that the mayor of Tel Aviv, Ron Huldai tried the car a couple months ago when they first started working on the project.
