For once, seeing the same notification on Facebook is a good thing! Following the terror attacks of November 13th in Paris, Facebook activated the “Safety Check” button in order to help users let their relatives know they’re safe. This technology was built by engineers working for Facebook in Tel Aviv. This is the result after months of dedication.

More than 5 Million in France were able to reassure their relatives during the attacks that happened this weekend in Paris, thanks to an Israeli technology developed by the superstar  engineers of Facebook in Tel Aviv. The technology was dreamed up after the earthquake and the tsunami  in Japan in 2011. It passed its last trial run on March 2015 and was activated for the fist time during the terror attacks that happened in Paris last Friday.

Roy Tiger and Adi Soffer-Teeni, the heads of the research and development center of Facebook Israel, are now finished with this project and are already working on a new life changing technology: internet.org. It will give internet access to people living in the most remote places in the world.

Thanks to its technology and its solidarity, Tel Aviv was ready to share its love and support to the French people during this terrible ordeal.
